Los Bunkers y su nuevo disco en supermercados: "Sabemos que el medio no es el idóneo"

Tal como ocurrió hace dos años, con el lanzamiento de su disco Barrio Estación (2008), Los Bunkers nuevamente se ven afectados por el conficto que hace años arrastra su sello (Universal) con Feria Music. Ese mismo impasse es el que impide que su nuevo trabajo, Música libre, pueda venderse en las tiendas Feria Mix, limitando su ditribución a través del diario Las Últimas Noticias (a $5.490) y desde hoy en supermercados de diversas ciudades de Chile.

Este nuevo álbum, en el que el quinteto penquista reversiona clásicos de Silvio Rodríguez, ya fue editado en México -país donde la banda reside- a mediados de noviembre, e incluso fue presentado a comienzos de este mes en el Centro Cultural Amanda. Pero pese a esto, y a que se trata de uno de los lanzamientos más significativos de este año de la escena local, no se ha logrado encontrar un mecanismo para que pueda distribuirse a través del mercado tradicional.

"Sabemos que el medio no es el idóneo, pero junto con otras formas, como lanzarlo con el periódico, ayuda a nuestro principal objetivo que es acercar nuestra música a la gente", afirma vía mail el guitarrista del grupo, Mauricio Durán (segundo de izquierda a derecha, en la foto), quien al igual que sus compañeros se encuentra de vacaciones en el sur de Chile.

Pese a que no es mucho lo que los músicos pueden hacer para revertir esta situación, Durán asegura que "el grupo se lo toma bien, porque lo ve como una alternativa". Y sobre la distribución en quioscos y supermercados, reconoce que "nunca será suficiente" para satisfacer la demanda de sus seguidores, "pero sí creemos que ayuda", agrega.

"Creemos que el futuro de la comercialización de la música está en internet, y en ese sentido nos alegra mucho que Música libre esté número 1 en ventas digitales. Sabemos que en Chile aún es un sistema que está en desarrollo y que tiene un gran potencial", afirma.

¿Existen posibilidades de zanjar el conflicto que existe con Feria Music en el corto plazo? "El grupo en la actualidad no tiene ningún conflicto con Feria Music", aclara Durán, quien junto a sus compañeros se desmarcan del tema del sello y no se autocensura para criticar el accionar de su ex representante, Andrés Varnava, a quien culpa por los problemas iniciales.

"Cualquier diferencia que hubo en el pasado, producto de la pésima gestión de nuestro calvo, gordo e inescrupuloso ex mánager, está zanjada. De hecho, estamos en conversaciones para reeditar (con el sello) nuestro primer disco", remata.

Los Bunkers presentan su nuevo material el 30 de diciembre en el teatro Nescafé de las Artes.

Los Bunkers presentan single de su tributo a Silvio Rodríguez

Quien fuera es el nuevo sencillo de Los Bunkers, que se estrenó en las radios latinoamericanas. Se trata del segundo tema que se desprende del álbum Música Libre, con el que el grupo nacional hace un particular tributo al trovador Silvio Rodríguez.

El disco, que sale a la venta en diciembre, está integrado por doce canciones del cantautor cubano versionadas por la banda penquista. "Nuestro acercamiento con la obra de Silvio Rodríguez es emocional. Tuvimos la extraña suerte de reconocerlo como una voz valiosa en tiempos oscuros para Chile", señalan los miembros del grupo mediante un comunicado.

Junto con esto, la próxima semana Los Bunkers comienzan su gira Música Libre: Parte I, por Chile, que comenzará con una presentación en el Club Amanda de Santiago, agendada para el 1 de diciembre. El día 4 de ese mismo mes, se subirán al escenario de El Huevo, en Valparaíso.

El 7 de diciembre, la gira los llevará a Los Andes, para presentarse en el Instituto Chacabuco; mientras que el día 9 lo harán en la Discoteque Grado 6, de Curicó.

El 11 de diciembre se presentarán, junto a varios músicos chilenos y argentinos, en el Festival El Abrazo.

El 15 del mismo mes estarán en el Teatro del Maule, en Talca. Las dos últimas fechas son en el norte:

El 17 de diciembre en Discoteque Gollum de Calama, y al día siguiente en la Discoteque Happy de Antofagasta.
